Webinars can be a great tool in your marketing bag of tricks to strengthen brand awareness and generate qualified leads. But webinars require some heavy lifting, so it’s essential that you take a strategic approach to planning, promoting, and executing the event.
To start, define your audience and tailor the content. Webinars should position your brand as industry thought leaders – not be a hard sales pitch.
For promotions, you’ll want to give yourself at least 4 weeks to take advantage of email, social, and digital. Also, send reminder emails the day and hour before the event.
Finally, it’s time to execute! Open the line at least 15 minutes before the start time and let your audience know that the webinar will begin shortly.
To engage your audience use polling questions, keep the slides visual, set-up a twitter hashtag, use multiple speakers and deliver the content promised.
And remember, the work doesn’t end after the webinar comes to a close. Be sure to send follow-up with the recording and slides within 24 hours of the event.
By taking the necessary steps to success, webinars can be a highly effective marketing activity.
