Meet our Software Engineering intern, John. He fit right in the second he arrived on the Salesfusion scene! Learn more about John by reading below.
When did you start working at Salesfusion?
What is an interesting fact(s) about yourself?
I play Ultimate and will be the team captain for Stanford’s B Team this year.
What’s your life motto?
Wherever you are, be there. Be present in the moment.
What projects are you currently working on?
I am working on Batch Email delivery and Sentiment Analysis. The goal of the first project is to allow customers the ability to split a single email campaign into periodic sends, each with a fraction of the recipients. All of the software engineering interns are working on the Sentiment Analysis project to determine any correlation between open and click rates of email campaigns and the text sentiment of that campaign as scored by the Google Cloud Natural Language API. The goal is to recommend marketers use specific verbiage to promote higher rates.
What is your favorite thing about working at Salesfusion?
The first thing that caught my attention was the open office environment and the relaxed atmosphere. People are down to earth, have a drive to work and are team players. I feel very comfortable working here. I’m working to implement a feature from start to finish and have learned so much in the process.
What advice would you give to someone in your occupation or career field?
I found this internship by applying cold online. I would promote freshmen and sophomores to build their resume. Show that you have built things, have a passion for computer science, and do your research. Also, continue to apply to internships, be smart when applying and don’t feel discouraged by rejection.
